ALBACA Restaurant Works for Locals and Visitors

ALBACA Restaurant

If you haven’t been to ALBACA Restaurant lately, it’s time to go back. The new dishes are elevated, and it’s all thanks to Executive Chef Nuri Kim. Chef Nuri brings nearly two decades of culinary experience to the kitchen. Originally from South Korea, she fell in love with cooking while helping her mom in the kitchen. She trained formally in South Korea and then moved to the United States in 2007 to expand her craft.

Over the years, she’s worked in respected hotels across the country, and now she’s leading the culinary team at ALBACA Restaurant at the beautiful Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa. Her focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients shines through in every dish, and a global influence shows up in creative ways.

Fresh Coastal California Cuisine With a Twist

One thing you’ll notice right away when dining at ALBACA Restaurant is the balance of flavors. Take the octopus arancini with mojo verde aioli and black pearl roe. It is beautifully plated and tastes just as spectacular. The menu mixes fresh coastal California style with subtle international touches that keep each bite interesting and satisfying. I’d recommend you start with chips and guacamole, then move into the pan‑seared halibut or grilled New York steak. All of the dishes we ordered were thoughtful and well executed.

Standout Plates You Must Try

Vegetable dishes like the achiote‑roasted heirloom carrots and cauliflower al pastor are more than sides. They’re highlights. And dessert lovers will appreciate the Mexican chocolate tart for a decadent finish.

Brunch at ALBACA Restaurant is equally appealing, with menu items like short rib Benedict and an island acai bowl that make any morning feel like a treat.

Dining With Stunning Views

What I love most about ALBACA Restaurant is how versatile it can be. If you’re staying at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, you’ll love the food choices without having to drive anywhere. You don’t have to leave the property to have a truly memorable meal, and the setting alone makes it feel special.

At the same time, ALBACA Restaurant never feels like it’s only for hotel guests. Locals come here too, whether it’s for a relaxed brunch, a long lunch, or a sunset dinner by the water. The views of the San Diego skyline and the Coronado Bridge are beautiful at any time of day, and they add something extra without overshadowing the food.

The Hotel, Spa, and Resort Experience

If you’re staying at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, you can start your day with a relaxed breakfast at ALBACA Restaurant, head out for a walk along the bay, and come back for dinner with a view that never gets old. But it’s not just for hotel guests. We’ve been enjoying staycations at this hotel for 20+ years. The views of the San Diego skyline and the Coronado Bridge are stunning, especially around sunset.

Renting bikes or e-bikes and cruising around Coronado is one of the best ways to explore the island. It’s flat, scenic, and full of little spots worth stopping for, from beaches to quiet neighborhoods.

beautiful landscaping and views

After a ride, coming back to the resort feels like a reward. The landscaping here is beautiful and well cared for, with palm trees, water features, and even flamingos that make the property feel peaceful and unique.

The spa is another reason this hotel works so well for a staycation or weekend getaway. Booking a massage, especially a couples massage, is a great way to fully relax and reset. Everything feels calm and unhurried, from check-in to the treatment rooms.

And throughout the resort, the service stands out. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, whether you’re dining at ALBACA Restaurant, checking into the spa, or just walking the grounds. Just another reason to stay longer, even if you live just a short drive away.
