I’m thrilled to share the highlights of the food that I enjoyed in San Diego, and making my list of “All the Best Dishes I Ate in 2023”. I am so proud of the food that our local restaurants create – from trendy eateries to hidden gems, this year’s list of dishes is nothing short of extraordinary. My ultimate goal is to make you drool, want to support these local restaurants, and use the comments box below to suggest restaurants that you think I would enjoy.
I had incredible meals in North Park, Oceanside, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, and Convoy Street – dined at restaurants that have been my favorites for years – and got to enjoy some new restaurants. So here is my gallery of All the Best Dishes I Ate in 202 – not in any particular order.

You left out In-N-Out! No SoCal foodie list should be without a double-double animal style.
Yes, I should have added it. I do have a blog post with all of the In-N-Out items on the secret menu: https://sdfoodiefan.com/in-n-out-secret-menu/
my husband and I looked at it and it’s brilliant! We’re so excited to try some of these dishes. Thank you for sharing with the community and all the effort you put into it
Thanks Kim, there are so many great restaurants in San Diego, it was hard to narrow it down to this select list.
My wife and I love Wrench & Rodent in Oceanside and go there often!
Our family are huge fans of Wrench & Rodent – I am always so intrigued by their daily specials and creativity.
Wow, Darryl everything looks amazing! I’m always seeking great breakfast spots!
I need to do a “best place to brunch” post
