Dining At Pechanga Resort Casino’s Restaurants

Before choosing a hotel to stay, I look at the location, price, amenities, and reviews. When I’m staying in a hotel and don’t intend to leave the hotel until the end of my stay, the dining options become one of the most important factors for me. Before staying at Pechanga Casino Resort, I wanted to make sure that there were plenty of dining options available. A modern gaming floor, relaxing outdoor pool area, golf, and spa – and it also has a fantastic selection of restaurants.  Whether it is fine dining or more casual options, I was so impressed with the Pechanga Casino Restaurants – the quality of food, selection, and service. Clearly, they have made a concerted effort to ensure that it is a dining destination.  I have not been to all the restaurants yet, so here are some of my favorites.

The Great Oak Steakhouse

The Great Oak Steakhouse is the resort’s signature restaurant. It just recently reopened after being renovated. From the second you walk inside the door, it is impossible not to be impressed. The décor portrays modern luxurious steakhouse vibes, and the lighting, art, and fixtures are stunning.  The food and service are equally as impressive.  When I dined there, they had daily specials with fresh seafood from around the world, and prime-grade Angus steaks.  If you are looking for a glass of wine, this is the restaurant to get it. With over 200 bottles available, they have earned the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence every year since 2020. I’m looking forward to going back to dine at the chef’s table, a modern glass-enclosed room where there will be serving 8-course dinners.  Reservations are highly recommended. This is the most expensive of the Pechanga Casino restaurants.

Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar

If you are looking for sushi, Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar is going to be your best bet.  The menu has booked raw and cooked fish and seafood dishes, although it’s the sushi that I always order here.  If the Hamachi crudo is on the menu when you dine there, order it. The combination of fresh yellowtail and watermelon is really delicious.  Once a year, Pechanga holds a Sushi & Sake Festival – this year, they brought in a 150-pound fresh bluefin tuna that was presented and sliced for the guests to enjoy.  They recently hired Chef Chuck as their Executive Chef and I am excited to see changes to the menu. I’ve eaten here several times, and it is always busy from the minute they open the door.

1882 Cantina

1882 Cantina is Pechanga’s Mexican restaurant. The name of the restaurant celebrates the year that the United States set aside 4000 acres for the Pechanga Indian Reservation.  You’ll find enchiladas, street tacos, and fajitas on the menu. Be sure to look at the daily specials as the steak I ordered was beautifully seasoned and cooked. I’d also highly recommend the ceviche. Of course, tequila is their specialty, and they have a great selection available. On Friday and Saturday nights, they have live music, and the vibes are very festive. This would be a good restaurant to save room for dessert as the three leches cake and caramel flan is a lovely way to end the meal.

Bamboo specializes in Pan-Asian dishes, with dishes from Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and China.  I’m almost willing to bet that the biggest challenge you will have here, is deciding what to order. It’s a huge menu, and I suspect that everything is as good as the dishes we ordered.  The service here is excellent, and I ended up choosing only dishes that are server recommended, including two dishes that I had never had before. There are still a lot of dishes on the menu that I want to try including the clay pots and whole fish striped bass.

Blends is the hotel’s casual coffee house.  Open 24 hours, they offer breakfast sandwiches and pastries, as well as salads and coffee drinks. The coffee is really great quality, and they make a fantastic latte. During the holidays, they have festive drinks that I would highly recommend. It’s conveniently located in the hotel lobby.

Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside – I love the Pechanga Fried Chicken.  It has the perfect southern seasoning, and don’t get me started about the flaky biscuit.  Open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Pechanga Casino restaurants all have different hours, so check before making a decision.
