I had such a good meal at VAGA, the signature restaurant at Alila Marea. The space is stunning, with sweeping views of the coastline, warm wood details, and big windows that let in that perfect coastal light.
We started with the Parker rolls (they were fluffy and warm). The tuna crudo was super fresh, and the salt-baked beets were one of my favorite bites of the night.
For mains, the koji hanger steak was cooked perfectly, and the Maine sea scallops were seared just right. The whole meal was delicious and a great example of some the best San Diego food.
If you’re staying at this Encinitas hotel, dinner at VAGA is a must. Even if you’re not staying there, it’s worth the trip to Leucadia just for the food and the view.
