Fleurette La Jolla Arrives in San Diego With a Confident Opening

Florette La Jolla

Fleurette La Jolla brings something fresh and thoughtful to the area as Chef Travis Swickard shows his experience in the kitchen. After over a decade cooking with top chefs in New York, he came back to San Diego and opened Callie, earning a Michelin Bib Gourmand along the way. Fleurette shows off his love for French Mediterranean flavors and the best local ingredients. It is on my list of best new restaurants in 2025.  La Jolla had two high-profile restaurant openings this month, with Fleurette joining Chef Accursio Lota’s newly opened Dora Ristorante.

Fleurette La Jolla Menu Highlights

Every dish we tried was delicious and full of flavor. The kampachi and carrot “cru” was stunning to look at and I’d highly recommend. The roast golden chicken was juicy and rich. The crispy chickpea panisse had great texture and flavor. And the olive oil poached Mount Lassen trout was light and perfect. I’d order all of those again, but I’m more excited to explore the rest of the menu next time.

The restaurant entrance

Chef Travis Swikard is a San Diego native who trained for over a decade in New York City alongside chefs like Daniel Boulud before returning home. He opened Callie in East Village, where his ingredient‑driven style earned national praise and a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Now he brings that vision to Fleurette La Jolla, a French‑Provençal restaurant celebrating coastal flavors and local produce. At Fleurette La Jolla, he focuses on light, seasonal cooking inspired by the French Mediterranean.

This new restaurant is an exciting addition to La Jolla’s food scene and shows his deep connection to food. Florette La Jolla opened in December 2025.
