If you’re looking for a fun group activity in San Diego, this new La Jolla escape room might be your next favorite thing. The Escape Game has opened a second location at Westfield UTC. It has four brand-new rooms, each with its own theme, story, and level of difficulty.

What Is an Escape Room Anyway?

An escape room is an action adventure game where you and your team solve puzzles and complete a mission in under 60 minutes. The goal might be to break out of prison, find hidden treasure, or stop a heist. The catch is that they lock you inside (don’t worry, not really), and the clock is ticking. This La Jolla escape room is perfect for a fun night out with friends.

Each room has a theme and a story. Some rooms have multiple connected spaces that you unlock as you go. It’s like being inside a movie or video game. But you’ll need teamwork, quick thinking, and skills to succeed. If you’re looking for a challenging adventure, this La Jolla escape room delivers.

Why This New la jolla escape room Is Worth Visiting

Even if you’ve played escape rooms before, these new games feel fresh. The puzzles in this La Jolla escape room are creative and clever. The design and props are high quality. Every puzzle fits the story. The rooms at UTC include:

  • Ruins: Forbidden Treasure (6/10 difficulty)
  • Cosmic Crisis (7/10 difficulty)
  • Timeliner: Train Through Time (7/10 difficulty)
  • Prison Break (9/10 difficulty)
  • The Heist (8/10 difficulty)
  • Playground (6/10 difficulty)

The rooms at this La Jolla escape room are all for eight people. The exception is Playground, which can hold up to 12 players. We played Ruins, and it was full of surprises. The game had multiple rooms, hidden passages, and puzzles that required real teamwork.

Helpful Tips to Escape on Time

Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, here are a few things that can help:

Bring Your Own Team

Because most rooms can accommodate 8 people, this is a fun activity to do with your friends and family.  It’s a lot of fun with people you know. If you’re solo or a small group, you can have just as much fun. You can be paired with others so the fun experience of working together can be enjoyed. This La Jolla escape room is ideal for team-building or a group outing.

Don’t Waste Time

You only have 60 minutes to escape the room. If you get stuck, ask for a hint. The staff wants you to succeed. I’d confess that we needed help twice, and the clues were so helpful. Each room in this La Jolla escape room has a unique theme and challenges.

Don’t Look Everywhere

Most games have more than one room. Don’t assume you’ve seen everything. You might not need clues from room one until much later in the game. This is where teamwork counts.

Talk It Out

Escape rooms are team games. Share ideas and work together. The more you communicate, the faster you’ll get through it.
