Mia’s restaurant is now open in Solana Beach, and it already feels like a strong new addition to the North County dining scene. Mia’s restaurant sits on Highway 101 in a spot that is easy to reach and close to the beach. It was previously a restaurant called ALCE 101. The team behind Bluewater Grill created Mia’s restaurant to bring a fresh Baja-Mediterranean fusion style to the area. The space has a clean, coastal look, warm lighting, and a patio that works well for relaxed meals.
The menu at Mia’s restaurant focuses on real and clean cooking. The kitchen prepares everything without seed oils, which gives each dish a fresh and natural taste. The chefs mix bright Baja flavors with simple Mediterranean touches. I started with the Hibiscus Tataki Hamachi, which had a smooth texture and a wonderful flavor.. I would definitely order again.
The Snapper Ceviche was another strong opener with clean flavors that reminded me of the coast. For main courses, The restaurant offers dishes like Ancho-Rubbed Skirt Steak, grilled Bluefin Tuna, and Pan-Seared Halibut. Each plate has bold seasoning but still feels light enough for a seaside dinner.
The drink menu at Mia’s is just as thoughtful. The cocktails are bright and playful. The Carrot Passion Margarita has a simple sweetness and a smooth finish. The Coconut Margarita is creamy but still light. The bar also has tequila, mezcal, wine, and local beer, so it is easy to find something that matches the food. The drinks make Mia’s restaurant a good place to stop for a late afternoon cocktail or a full dinner.
Mia’s also has a weekday Happy Hour from Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 6 pm. The menu includes empanadas, ceviche, and cocktails at good prices. It is a nice way to try the food before committing to a long dinner. When we visited on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was already packed with no tables left, which shows how fast it is growing in popularity.
Mia’s Solana Beach has a great happy hour. It runs in the late afternoon on weekdays and is a great place to go after work or before dinner. The deals on drinks make it easy to try one of their margaritas or a glass of wine without spending too much. They also offer small bites that are fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the Picadillo Empanadas, Crispy Fish Taco, and Snapper Ceviche.
If you enjoy fresh seafood, bold flavors, and coastal-cool energy, Mia’s restaurant is worth a visit. It brings something new to Solana Beach and will likely become one of North County’s favorite spots. You can make reservations on OpenTable.
With Mia’s restaurant now open and Lana nearby, Solana Beach suddenly has two top new spots for food lovers.
