The 4th of July is a fun celebration, and San Diego knows how to light up the sky for the celebration. I have already done all the work for you and jotted down the 16 best spots where you can watch San Diego fireworks. From beaches to parks to rooftops, here’s where to go if you want to end the night with a bang.  

San Diego & Other Waterfront Spots

Big Bay Boom (San Diego Bay)

  • Locations: Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North & South Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Coronado Ferry Landing, Marina District
  • Date & Time: July 4, 2025, at 9 PM
  • Viewing Experience: Waterfront parks and piers; ideal with lawn chairs or from boats
  • Cost: Free
  • Parking/Tips: Arrive early; use MTS transit (“Friends Ride Free”); free waterfront meter parking, but strictly enforced; shuttles recommended

USS Midway Museum Fireworks Viewing Party

  • Address: 910 N Harbor Dr, Downtown
  • Date & Time: July 4, 2025, during Big Bay Boom (~9 PM)
  • Viewing Experience: Elevated views from the USS Midway Museum flight deck; live entertainment and activities
  • Cost: ~$35 general admission
  • Parking/Tips: Buy tickets early; bring chairs/blankets

Shelter Island / Harbor Island / Embarcadero / Seaport Village
