The Décor is Tropicool Vibes

From the moment you park at the valet service and exit your car, you will be transported to a beachy wonderland. There are huge parrots, a spectacular chandelier made with margarita glasses, surfboards, tiki-inspired accents, a giant flip flop, immediate vacation-mode casual seating – and we haven’t even left the lobby yet.

Getting There is Easy Breezy

Flying In – so simple as it is just a short airport service shuttle, Uber, or cab ride from San Diego International Airport.

By car – Margaritaville San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is a breeze to reach as it’s located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. Arrive, and park your car as you will not need it again for the duration of your stay.

Now, let’s consider the amazing location of the hotel. The Gaslamp Quarter is the spot in San Diego for entertainment, dining, and all-around fun. You’re steps away from trendy shops, historic architecture, and a nightlife scene that’s hotter than a chili pepper. And guess what? The famous Petco Park, home to the Padres, is a two-minute walk. If you’re a sports fan, you might just catch a game. You could also explore the historic USS Midway Museum, take a harbor cruise, visit the immersive WNDR Museum or simply stroll through the Gaslamp Quarter’s charming streets. It’s your getaway, not mine!

The rooftop bar, pool, and restaurant are literally the largest in the Gaslamp Quarter.  We were ready to check it out, so we made this our first stop. I got to enjoy a signature cocktail in a blender cup while I stared at the at the views. Getting wasted away in Margaritaville will be a fun part of your staycation.  I’ll confess I was dying to take a lemon and lime cushion home with me – you’ll see what I mean when you get there.

Food at LandShark Bar & Grill

Margaritaville’s bar and restaurant, LandShark Bar & Grill, specializes in coastal-inspired cuisine. The food is fresh, flavorful, and downright delicious. Whether you’re craving seafood, steak, tacos, or a signature burger, they’ve got you covered. And don’t forget to pair your meal with a signature Margarita – it’s practically a requirement!  Finally, be sure to stare at the décor. It is literally a scene out of a Jimmy Buffet song.

24-Hour Bliss

Spending 24 hours at Margaritaville San Diego Gaslamp Quarter hit the reset button on my stress-o-meter. From the second that I checked in, dropped my bags in the room, and made my way to lounge at the rooftop pool to sip a cocktail, I felt like I had escaped to a tropical paradise. Similarly, I am not insisting that you only stay one night – to be honest, a couple of days would have been even better.
