Weekend Buffet In A World War I French Farmhouse

94th Aero Squadron Restaurant

AN UNFORGETTABLE BUFFET WITH WORLD WAR I MEMORABILIA

Imagine having your weekend buffet in a replica of a World War One French farmhouse. If you have not had brunch at 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, I recommend you add it to the top of your list. The combination of great food and decor will inspire any history buff and will be a memorable experience.

From the minute you drive up to the old building, it’s a visual feast for the eyes. Outside, the garden is immaculately kept, and you can immediately start enjoying the dining experience. The building is located right next to Montgomery Field, so the sounds that you hear of planes landing and takeoff are real. The outdoor patio overlooks the runway.

Inside, you will be torn between staring at the food and staring at the walls. The ceiling has replicas of old planes and even full-sized wings. There is plenty of seating available inside, as well as a cozy outdoor patio area. Not only do they have table seating, but they have really cute booths, that are very cozy and intimate.

I suspect that no matter what your favorite brunch dish is, it’s available. They have everything from freshly baked pastries and flavored coffee, to smoked salmon, sushi, crab legs, and ceviche.  The chef is standing by at the hot station where he is making eggs, burritos, and freshly sliced top sirloin.

Included in the weekend buffet, is bottomless mimosa and champagne. No wonder it’s voted as one of San Diego’s best buffets. But going just one time isn’t enough, as I spent my first visit staring at the walls and getting to enjoy the memorabilia – the second time is to enjoy the food.

It’s a great location for a date or taking the family – especially on a beautiful sunny day. And hopefully, you are not too full, because the selection of desserts is just as impressive.  After trying the creme brulee, eclairs, and cream puffs, you can balance it out with the wonderful selection of fresh seasonal fruits.

Reservations are highly recommended at 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant: OpenTable   The weekend brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
